A multi-media exhibition about the history of Skye with a commentary available in 8 languages. Regular concerts and arts events take place in the theatre where films (movies) are also screened. Lealt Waterfall and Kilt Rock
17 miles north of Portree - This waterfall drops 300 feet into the sea. Often the water from the loch never reaches the ocean, but gets blown away by the wind. The spot is also a popular viewpoint for the Kilt Rock where columns of dolerite, rather like the black basalt of Staffa, form what appear to be pleats in the cliff. So dangerous is this part of the coast, that it has been wisely fenced off.
Talisker Distillery
The only distillery on the Isle of Skye, set on the shores of Loch Harport.
Talisker distillery is an Island single malt Scotch whisky distillery based in Carbost, Scotland on the Isle of Skye. The distillery is operated by Diageo, and is marketed as part of their Classic Malts series. The brand is sold as a premium whisky.
